Shots Fired Near Brooklyn Paramount

BREAKING:

Shots Fired Near Brooklyn ParamountLong Island University issued a shelter-in-place alert at 11:38 AM after reports of shots fired near 490 Fulton Ave in Downtown Brooklyn, in close proximity to the Brooklyn Paramount.

An email sent out to LIU students at staff members on March 2 2026

Community members inside the building were instructed to remain indoors while the New York Police Department responded and initiated an on-site investigation.

At 11:57 AM, LIU distributed a follow-up notice stating NYPD had issued an all-clear and that it was safe to resume normal activities in the area.

No confirmed reports of injuries or suspects at this time. Investigation ongoing.
