Artist Q&A - Marc Bedikian:

Q: What does this mean to you?

A: I’ve been making music since I was 18 with just a computer. I know how hard it is to make it in music or as a DJ, and I’ve always done it out of passion above all. So at 46, releasing on Laurent Garnier’s label — which brings together such a range of iconic and high-quality artists — is just fantastic!!

Q: What’s the one thing you’d like listeners to know about your musical journey?

A: First and foremost, I’m a true music enthusiast. I’ve been collecting and digging vinyl records for as long as I can remember. I mix and produce purely for the pleasure it brings me. Like millions of other music fans, I do it out of passion, not calculation. I don’t really think in terms of “career” — my only goal is to keep producing, mixing, and sharing music with the world.

Nowadays, having a career without 100,000 followers or without playing mainstream music is challenging, there’s a lot of DJ and Music producer. But I’m not interested in forcing myself into a system that doesn’t reflect who I am. I prefer to let things flow naturally and make the most of the opportunities that come my way.

Q: “Qui Peut Le Plus” translates as “Who can do more.” What does this phrase mean to you?

A: The full expression is “Qui peut le plus, peut le moins” (“Who can do more, can do less”). It was a favorite saying of my friend Roland Mellan, a furniture designer, who sadly passed away while I was working on this track. His loss was a very hard moment for me, and that feeling of melancholy naturally found its way into the music. It’s also a tribute to the techno I love and to it’s wide range of influences.

I decided to keep only “Qui Peut Le Plus” as both a tribute to Roland and as a reminder to myself: in life, you have to keep moving forward, never give up, and hold on to your belief in yourself.

Q: What do you want listeners to discover about themselves when they listen to your music?

A: When working on “Qui Peut Le Plus”, I imagined people with headphones, eyes closed, letting themselves go, or on the dancefloor, feeling the build-up and the drop. I’m first and foremost a music lover, and I know what it’s like to experience it live. For me, it’s all about making people feel emotions through music.

Everyone connects with music in their own way; the key is that the sense the emotion I’m trying to share, a musical experience.

Q: “Qui Peut Le Plus” , what’s your next step?

A: Keep creating, producing, making music, and sharing it. I’m working on several tracks at the same time and also collaborating with my friend Seb. So… stay tuned 😉
